7:30 pm - Program: Cactus and Succulents of East Central Mexico by Gene Feit

In East Central Mexico we see a transition from the cactus and succulents of the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Puebla to the cactus and succulents of the Chihuahuan Desert  and of west Texas. We will visit the states of Hidalgo, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí and Tamaulipas in the eastern Sierra Madre and in the plains west of the mountains. This is a region of beauty and of vast plant diversity.

Gene Feit has traveled several times to Mexico to see and photograph native plants. He has been going in stages from Oaxaca all the way north to west Texas. This talk is one stage in his journey. In July he completed the final stage by visiting northern Nuevo León and Coahuila.
